CBT

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy is one of the most researched & widely used therapy treatments. CBT works by evaluating your thought life and behaviors by looking at how thoughts, images, beliefs, & emotions intertwine. The goal is to help clients connect how their cognitive processes relate to unhelpful behaviors or patterns in addition to emotional challenges. CBT is often used for those struggling with depression, NSSI, anxiety, OCD, & when one is “feeling stuck in a loop”.

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) often involves working with your therapist to change thinking & behavioral patterns. CBT also includes specific techniques to support relaxation, improve coping techniques, increase resilience, aid in stress management & improve communication with others.

This type of therapy often works to confront contradictions between self-acceptance & barriers to change by focusing on four areas: mindfulness, distress tolerance, emotional regulation, & interpersonal effectiveness. DBT is helpful if you’re struggling with controlling & processing strong emotions, are in patterns of self-destruction, & coping with stressful life events in the here and now.
