Meet Brittany

Hello! I’m Brittany Kreft, a Licensed Professional Counselor, MA, & owner of Katura Counseling. As a little background, I was working in Big 4 accounting post-college when I discovered my true passion for helping others sort through life’s difficult moments, wrestle with questions of “Am I good enough?” & uncover ways to make life better.

Since then, I have worked in outpatient, intensive outpatient (IOP), day treatment (PHP), & inpatient settings, primarily with adolescents and young adults experiencing difficulty with unexpected changes, chronic medical illness, depression, anxiety, self-destructive coping skills, low self-esteem, work/life balance concerns, sports performance anxiety & vocational performance anxiety.

I was trained at Colin Ross Trauma Institute as well as Children’s Medical Center in the Outpatient Center for Pediatric Psychiatry & SPARC (Suicide Prevention IOP Program). I’m rooted in Christ, Biblically informed & able to integrate faith into evidenced-based therapeutic practices upon request.

“My goal is to provide a place for others to unload life’s heavy moments.”

A Passion for Helping Others

I hope clients leave sessions feeling heard, lighter, and confident in their ability to respond skillfully in moments of stress & unhelpful thinking. I aim to not only support, encourage, & shed light on lies that may be present but also provide instruction on how to gain insight, emotional awareness, & tools to soften difficult blows.

I offer a variety of treatment modalities, including cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), CBT-I (for those with sleep difficulties), dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT) skills, motivational interviewing (MI), & theophostic prayer ministry (TPM) to fit each individual’s needs. I often use Gospel-centered principles paired with evidence-based interventions.

A Few Fun Facts

When I’m not working, I can be found enjoying the outdoors with family - whether it’s a hike or a picnic at a near-by park, training for half marathons, or wake-boarding on the lake. I also love trying new recipes with my husband, & reading historical fiction. I’m an active member at Northway Church.
